Lucky Stone
The “Lucky Stone” legacy scholarship was born after attending a class reunion. James Luckett and Dennis Stone, the founders of the scholarship met at Trinidad State and continued their friendship for 40 plus years. They had a great time, reconnected with old friends and enjoyed their time together. While being there, it reinforced the belief that attending Trinidad State was a turning point in their life and gave them an educational base to move on to navigate this path called life and succeed. Through their many conversations, they decided to find a way to give back and to help others find the success that they had enjoyed at Trinidad State.
Impact
They chose to support the nursing program having been motivated by the COVID-19 pandemic and how it affected the country and the world. It is their desire to really grow the scholarship to meet the needs of students trying to make their way in life.
